How has pageantry affected your life?
Pageantry has affected my life in a positive way. In the five years that I’ve participated in the Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Program, I have grown so much. Not only has it helped me develop self-confidence, but it has also helped me to discover what I stand for and who I am. It’s opened many doors for personal and professional experiences, as well as helped to pay for my college education. It’s helped me become more active in learning about issues on local, state, national, and global levels. Pageantry has helped me work towards making a positive impact on those around me and spread awareness of the issues I’m most passionate about. I’ve made so many great memories and befriended some of the most amazing young women through my participation in pageantry. What are your hobbies?
My main hobbies include: dance, martial arts, reading, and working out. During the warmer seasons, I enjoy camping, kayaking, and nature walks. Recently, I just began trying to learn yoga. Tell us about a goal you have.
I am currently working towards is to become a “Master” and fifth-degree black belt in the Shaolin Kempo Martial Arts. I have been working towards this goal since I began my training in the martial arts as a seven-year-old white belt. Currently, I am a fourth degree black belt and hold the honor of the title “Sensei”. It has taken a lot of planning, time, commitment, and passion, but I cannot wait until I can say that I have accomplished this goal! How would you define success?
To me, success is not only how far you have come in reaching a goal you have set, but also how well you pick yourself up, and your ability to keep moving forward after you have experienced a setback. I believe that it’s within your actions and attitude when setbacks occur that help to determine how successful you truly are once you reach your goals. |
