If you had to give one piece of advice to the younger generation what would it be?
My advice is to "just jump." I am currently studying theatre at the University of Southern Maine and one of my professors tells the class to "jump" everyday. "I'm looking for you to test your boundaries." He says. Essentially, it means to push yourself. Do what scares you. Test your limits. Feel uncomfortable? Nervous? Good. Those are feelings to embrace. Don't miss out on amazing opportunities because you're too scared to go after them. Don't limit yourself by saying that "you can't do something." Because you most certainly can. You can do anything you set your mind to. So, just jump. Why has been your greatest experience?
Although, life has offered me many unique and incredible experiences, traveling around New England as a Magician's Assistant, representing New Hampshire through the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program at Nationals in Washington D.C. and gaining information and skills at a 5 day intensive to become a Substance Abuse Counselor, I'd like to think that my greatest experience has yet to come! List three qualities that you would like to be known for.
Savvy, ambitous and empathetic. Describe your favorite vacation.
My sophomore year of high school I went to the Bahamas with my Father on school break. I was so excited because it was our first vacation together and my first time out of the country. It was breathtaking, beautiful and we had a blast! But that's not the only reason why it's my favorite. About a year after this trip my father became life threateningly ill. My family and I didn't know if he was ever going to get better. But by the grace of God, he became stronger and eventually came out of his coma. Although he had almost complete memory loss, the one thing he could remember was the trip we took to Paradise Island. Our time together meant so much to him that even through physical hardship and severe illness, he remembered it. Brings tears to my eyes every time. |
