What is your major in college / what interests you most in school?
I am majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies at Plymouth State University. What this mean is I was actually able to create my own major, the title of it being “Psychological Aspects of Exercise and Health.” I was able to take classes from the psychology department and health and human performance department and combine them! I had to go through a whole process of choosing classes to fit my program and write a long essay about why it was important for me to study the classes I chose and how those will help me make difference in my future education goals. It was a long but fun process and I have enjoyed every minute of the classes I have been taking at Plymouth State. After having a knee injury I was really inspired to go into a field of study where I can help athletes psychologically with their injuries and get them back on the playing field and this is helping me to just that! This is why I was so interested in the Interdisciplinary program that is offered. List three qualities that you would like to be known for.
Three qualities I would like to be known for are that I am compassionate, energetic and confident in myself. If you had to give one piece of advice to the younger generation what would it be?
A quote I love by Henry Thoreau, “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” I honestly couldn’t agree more then this. You should go after your dreams no matter how big or small they may be. Work hard towards those dreams and goals and never give up no matter how hard it may get. If you can get through the hard times then you can get through anything life throws at you. What would you say has been your greatest experience?
Being able to dance and perform at the 2015 Discover Orange Bowl with country singer Dierks Bentley down in Miami, Florida. It was a week filled with a lot of hard work, dancing and fun. Finishing off the week performing in front of a crowd of thousands of people and on live television was such a rush and I am so grateful I was able to have that opportunity and got to experience it with a lot many other dancers and some of my friends. |
